What I've done so far:
I greatly appreciate that EWH has awarded me  with $3000 in aid based on financial need and merit. This has really taken off some of the burden in raising funds for the program. I have also been awarded the Newcomb-Tulane College Dean's Grant which will provide me with $1000 to help cover the cost of my airfare to and from Tanzania. I have been working hard with two jobs at Tulane to pay for my trip and so far have submitted $500 for my initial deposit.  I received a little over $4000 in the mail  through letters and views on my blog to cover the rest of the cost of my program fee and enough to cover all but $500 for my flight! Through the Honors Program at Tulane I was able to apply for  the Jean Danielson Memorial Scholarship and received $1025, which I had budgeted was the remaining cost for my in country expenses, visa, malaria medication and the rest of my flight. I was amazingly lucky in receiving so much and am so thankful for every dollar!
