Returning to Africa: Using my education so far and applying it to a real-world experience and an opportunity to help hospitals in dire need.
WHY TANZANIA???With the incredible experiences of last summer's journey to Kenya, I knew I wanted to travel again and see what else I could do to help in developing countries. In the fall, through a forwarded Tulane faculty e-mail, I found out about EWH and that they offered a program in one of Kenya's bordering countries. I then attended an information session and knew right then that this was the program I needed to be involved with this summer. I applied with the preference of Tanzania over Central America (the other program destination option) in hopes of being reunited with some of the customs and culture I grew to love just above the Tanzania/ Kenya borderline. After a long wait, I was so relieved to not only be accepted, but also find that I would, in fact, be spending another summer in Africa, but this time for two months! On the attached subpages you can find what my estimated schedule is, what EWH is all about, and my blog that I will be updating as my trip approaches!
